Seldom Found Architecturals was established July 15, 2005 by international award winning builder, Michael Dobbs and his business partner, Matthew Rosburg. 

Originating from Springfield, MO Mike was building and developing high-quality homes that posses a distinct look and a timeless design.  He made sure that everyone’s house was a home and every home was a piece of art.      

People in the building industry and home-owners alike often inquired on where he was getting the hard to find, unique building materials that he was integrating in his homes.  The houses he was building were selling quickly and he was (and still is) continually approached for custom homes

Soon after moving to Kansas City, MO Mike met and partnered up with a top salesman for the Kansas City Star, Matthew Rosburg.  Matt shared an extreme interest in architectural salvage and loved the idea of marketing products that are considered eco-friendly.  

The two collaborated and realized that they could help others obtain the hard to find building materials by opening a store front, making it easier for them to purchase the products that Mike was using in his custom homes.  Soon thereafter Seldom Found Architecturals opened its doors in the original downtown Kansas City area known as the French Bottoms.
